 THE PUMP N' RUN Challenge (PNR)

 

This option is offered for all race categories at the Flying PIG (5K, 10K, HALF and FULL Marathon!).  Participants will Bench Press a percentage of their body weight based upon an age and gender handicap, and earn a reduction in their run time for each bench press repetition!  Team Competitions offered at no charge!

 THE PUMP, CURL N' ROW Challenge! (PCNR)

Participants will Bench Press and Curl a percentage of their body weight, based upon an age and gender handicap, and earn a reduction in their 500 meter row time, for each repetition.  Rowing is performed using an Indoor Concept 2 Rowing Machine (i.e. ERG Machine).  No running  required!

 The PUMP N' CURL Challenge! (PNC)

This is a high-rep, endurance weight lifting challenge!  Participants will Bench Press and Curl a percentage of their body weight, based upon an age and gender handicap, and compete for a broad spectrum of weight lifting awards!  No running required!

Greetings fellow Gym Rats, Cross Trainers, Weight Lifters, Bodybuilders and otherwise Generic Fitness Kooks (I think I fit the last category!).  We are very excited about a fresh new vision which is unfolding! Imagine, if while we “practiced our passion” of working out, we could gain wonderful new friendships, compete in new exciting events, and at the same time… work as a team to give back to our community! Well, if you have “caught this vision”, you now understand why we are putting on these events. 
We invite
you to join us!

We are simply a group of Gym Rats striving to walk out this vision.  We are unpaid volunteers, who support the nonprofit Lord’s Gym, a work-out facility in the heart of Cincinnati’s downtown Over-the-Rhine.  All of the proceeds from our events, go to this organization, which has tirelessly served under-resourced individuals for over 12 years.  When people come in off the streets into the Gym, in addition to connecting them with Fitness and Weightlifting Programs, the staff helps them find jobs, helps them get off drugs (if necessary), and simply provides the love, friendship and support, to better equip them in making healthy life decisions.  I know this to be true, because I work out at the Gym.  I have seen this love and compassion firsthand, countless times.
